Christopher Parkening is celebrated as one of the world’s preeminent virtuosos of the classical guitar. Parkening’s performances, recordings, and collaborations, which have included artists such as Kathleen Battle, Renée Fleming, Placido Domingo, Josh Groban, Jubilant Sykes, and composers/conductors John Williams and Elmer Bernstein, have received the highest worldwide acclaim. A frequent soloist with leading orchestras, Parkening has performed at the White House and appeared on 20/20, The Today Show, The Tonight Show, Good Morning America, and The Grammy® Awards.

Guitar Chamber Concert


The Pepperdine University Guitar Department presents a chamber music concert featuring guitar students studying with Distinguished Professor of Music Christopher Parkening tonight, April 21 at 7:30 p.m. in Raitt Recital Hall on the Pepperdine Campus, 24255 Pacific Coast Highway, Malibu CA 90263.
This recital will feature chamber music from the classical guitar literature spanning multiple centuries from composers around the world, including music for two guitars and songs for voice and guitar. Payson Library Recital

The Pepperdine University Guitar Department presents a concert TONIGHT featuring current students studying with Distinguished Professor of Music Christopher Parkening.  These concerts feature guitarists performing masterpieces from the classical guitar literature spanning six centuries and including composers from around the world.
Tonight's recital will take place from 5:00-6:00 p.m. in the Surfboard Room of the Payson Library on the Pepperdine Campus, 24255 Pacific Coast Highway, Malibu, CA 90263. All concerts are free and open to the general public.

Student Recital for March

The Pepperdine University Guitar Department presents a concert featuring current students studying with Distinguished Professor of Music Christopher Parkening on the second Tuesday of every month during the Fall and Spring semesters.  These concerts feature guitarists performing masterpieces from the classical guitar literature spanning six centuries and including composers from around the world.
